It was a bit of an advertorial for QF really. Interesting timing given the current industrial goings on at the moment.

Why does everyone seem to have it in for TT ?

Think TT will survive much MUCH longer than QF will.

It's the LCC's of this world, that are making all the money at present & with many economies around the wrold ina huge mess, LCC's will survive, as people can afford them.

Andrew - I do question Tiger's ability to survive?
the media had been reported they were struggling financially even prior to the groundings and the grounding certainly didn't do it any better in terms of financials or reputations.

Secondly SQ is attempting to set up a separate LCC based in Singapore with 777s. To me that really puts a big question mark as to where it will fit in.

Andrew Johnson 21st August 2011 11:35 AM

If Singapore INC weren't in for the long run, I don't think they would have revived TT.

If QF faulters which looks more & more likely everyday (DJ picking up lots of QF business, especially not with QF strikes) TT will not only pick up more business, but gain higher yields as well.

777's are aimed at much longer range sectors than A320's.

Not sure exactly but think a 777 (will they be high seat density 1 class ?) would have a range of 10-12 hours, whereas an A320 probably has a range of 5-6 hours.

So would presume that SQ LCC with 777's would link in with Tiger somehow at various ports.

Eg. if SQ LCC flies to MEL then if TT has high frequency MEL/SYD they might link up that way. Many people will put up with inconvenience to get to SYD at a lower cost.
