2009 a380 deliveries

We're nearly four months into 2009 and no A380 deliveries so far.

Various reports say that Airbus Industries is confident of meeting its target of 18 A380 deliveries for 2009. If so, that will be an average of one every 14 days from now until the end of the year.

The target seems a bit optimistic now.

Upon what level of expertise are you basing that comment Bob?

The delivery plan for 2009-2010 from http://a380production.com/
Quote:

Just got from one of my sources a production list for A380 deliveries in 2009 and 2010.
17 (Most likely 15)
Emirates 7x (5x) = 017, 023, 007, 028, 025, ( 009, 030 probably in 2010)
Singapore 4x = 021, 019, 034, 045
Qantas 4x = 026, 027, 029, 047, (050 could be 2010)
Air France 2x = 033, 040

And for the 2010 a total of 19 plus probably a few more.

Lufthansa 7x = 038, 041 (Q1-2010), 044, 048 (Q2-2010), 061, 066, (Q3-2010) 076 (Q4-2010)
Singapoure 4x = 051, 065, 071, 073
Emirates 7x = 042, 046, 056, 057, 059, 060, 063 ( 03-2010 - 03-2011)
Qantas Not Known in 2010
Air France Not known in 2010
VIP Prince Al 1x = MSN002

And the 6th airline Korean Air there first aircraft MSN035 is unknown.

I have no expertise in aviation whatsoever Andrew.

That's why I read this Board to learn from the Professionals and others who are more knowledgeable than me.

I thought my observation to be reasonable given that nearly four months have elapsed so far and none have been delivered. The target of 18 was revised down from 21 earlier this year (or late last year) and given the economic conditions at present, I thought that some airlines may want to defer deliveries - China Southern for instance.

Hence my observation that the target might be optimistic.

Only 1 for EK MSN017 on April 25th, There next A380 will be MSN023 which has yet to fly yet (but has taxied). But it could be MSN007 the refurbished one as this just came out of the hangers with new doors and windows but no escape slides so it will have to go back into the hangers to have these installed. The next one after that will be MSN021 for Singapore and then either MSN019 for Singapore again or MSN026 for Qantas.

China Southern have defered their deliveries. They most likely said this to Airbus a couple of months ago. And there first aircraft MSN031 will or has beeb renumbered for another airline, like MH first A380 MSN018 was renumbered for Singapore Airlines as MSN045. If you want news on the A380 keep checking a380production.com and forum.a380produciton for updates. Hope this helps
