Default 24 Hours At YSSY

So what does 24 hours of movements at YSSY look like ?

My son decided to do something similar to a number of US Youtube videos showing air traffic movements, compressing 24 hours in Sydney airspace down to 2min 15sec. This was achieved by sampling all the aircraft airborne every 20sec, then playing the data back in Google Earth (sped up 18 times), and recording the result. This recording was then edited in Final Cut Pro on the Macbook, and sped up an additional 20 times.

The clip includes sunlight transition, the Runway in operation through the day, and also highlights cerfew hours.

Watch The Video

Watch out for the 3 or 4 aircraft orbiting to the east and north in the early evening.
