Just wanting any information members can provide on the old Kendell Airlines CRJ 200 routes . I believe Sydney - Canberra, Melbourne- Launceston was popular and some routes into Queensland.

I'm pretty certain that Melbourne-Hobart, Sydney-Hobart and Sydney-Launceston were also done by the CRJ.

I saw a fair few Kendell CRJ200s in Canberra when I stayed there during the 2000 Olympics.
From memory, I think they were flying to Melbourne, but as I was not a local, I'm not sure if they did that regularly or if that was just during the Olympics. I do know, though, that I was never able to score a CRJ200 when I was flying (near daily) to and from Sydney for those 2 weeks or so. |

BNE -MKY and CBR-ADL were some of the routes the 14 aircraft flew. CQ PLanespotting has this
"Kendell Airlines CRJ-200s were initially flown to Brisbane from Canberra, before eventually, a handful of the regional jets were based at Brisbane and utilised on services into Central Queensland. The CRJ-200s replaced Ansett Brittish-Aerospace BAe 146-300s on services into Rockhampton, Mackay, Proserpine / Whitsunday Coast and Hamilton Island. CRJ-200ER VH-KJQ is pictured below at Rockhampton Airport on Sunday 18 February 2001" http://cqplanespotting.blogspot.com/...t-kendell.html Last edited by MarkR; 2nd April 2019 at 04:29 PM. |

They used to alternate the SF340 and CRJ-200 on the SYD-CBR shuttle. My wife used to try and make sure she was on the CRJ as it was a smoother ride

A complete list of routes and daily flights for the NS-01 period is as follows:
MEL-HBA (10) MEL-LST (8) MEL-CBR (up to 5) ADL-CBR (2, weekdays only) SYD-HBA* (0) SYD-LST (1) SYD-CBR (3) SYD-MCY (2, weekends only) BNE-CBR (up to 6) BNE-ROK (4) BNE-MKY (4) *SYD-HBA ran from 26/12/2000 to 28/1/2001 inclusive; these services supplemented the daily AN 737 flight during the peak summer season. Three daily CRJ services were scheduled to commence on this route for the NW-01/02 period, but these never eventuated following the collapse of AN in September 2001. Note services increased on some routes for peak season, e.g. for the NW-00/01 period, MEL-HBA had up to 13 daily CRJs (in addition to AN 320s), and MEL-LST had up to 10 CRJs. |
