Info on Singapore's Changi Airport?
I'm not sure if this thread belongs here in the Spotting And Movements page or in the Trip Reports page, but I'm seeking info on Changi Airport in Singapore.
I will soon be having a 12-hour layover wait for a flight out of Changi and I'd appreciate comments from those who have visited or photographed it. Is there an observation deck for photography and spotting? (I'd prefer outdoor shots of aircraft movements, not interior shots of the terminal itself.) Are there any good/best angles or vantage points to snap images from, preferably not too far from the airport itself? (Think, walking distance.) I've heard the place is massive, and I'll be stuck there from just before midday until just after midnight for my flight, so I have a decent amount of time to do some exploring. Comments welcome. Thanks. |

Plenty of outdoor spots depending on what terminal you at, what’s your timings?

Terminal 3 out of Changi... I'm on a 12.45am flight back to Sydney.

I missed that in your post, apologies. I spent 12 hours in T3 a few years ago after a botched flight experience with MH and was kept busy, there are numerous outdoor areas for spotting. Or you might like to enter Singapore and grab a cab down to east coast parkway for some great food and spotting, or just visit the airport cafeterias (great cheap food open to the public but somewhat hidden).

Thanks, Mark... I'll try to locate a map of Changi Airport because that will help me get my bearings on the best spotting and photography vantage points. Do you know where I might obtain one?
