When Boeing used customer codes in their model numbers:

38 - Qantas
76 - TAA
77 - Ansett-ANA

FE - Virgin Blue/Virgin Australia

8FE - was an 800 series built for Virgin Australia

Indeed! There are a few odd***** in the fleet that were purchased off other customers; VUW/VUY are -8KGs, YFC/YFE are -81Ds, and there are the “Silk Seven” -8SAs

Correct, they are the ones from other airlines, lease companies ....

Search for Boeing Customer codes and you can see who the frame built.
Unless it NTU and passed to a new owner.
