Default Swamp Road closed for spotting?

Swamp Road, at the north end of the main North-South runway, has been sealed off to cars and pedestrians.

It's always been an ideal spot for elevated views along the runway.

Does anyone have any information on when the road will be re-opened?

I suspect that the entire area is being redeveloped into a new park for the public.

(That would include the stretch of land between Tempe Reserve, the golf driving range, the container cargo terminal, the overgrown gully along the canal at Airport Drive, and Swamp Road.)

It would be nice to see it beautified, but we've lost a good spotting/photography location.

For the sydney gateway project

Based off the interactive map, they'll be a new road just across from it.
