Default Brisbane - Singapore Qantas A330

Why do Qantas only operate an A333 on the Brisbane-Singapore route? Is it due to low load factors or are they just unable to free up a B744 for that route?

the 743 was carrying between 60 to 70ton of fuel on the Perth-Singapore route, it was using between 50 to 60 ton of that juice, with oil through the roof it isn't economically viable to have the 743 doing a route that can be done with a more fuel efficient plane.

A330 might be as efficient as you can get on that route.

The daily 747 flight out of Brisbane was mainly full and there was a outcry when it was reduced to a 333 a few years ago.

Qantas was the only one who could inform us of the reasons?

Tim, demand was there .

Better product! :P

The 743's only have the dreamtime seats or the millenium seats up front. The A330's have the Skybed.

The other thing was the 743s were to be replaced by the A330's anyway. Singapore in terms of returns is quite good for Qantas, hence the probable need to put a newer product on the route to keep everyone happy.

My two cents.

Alex.

Pehaps then they could switch the timings for the flights and have 2 services per day on some days.

It'll be a 767-300 for a few days next week.

The 743's do not have Millennium seats. Only the Dreamtime seats.

Its always hard to get a seat on QF BNE-SIN-BNE.

Hopefully with the A380s starting to arrive a B744 is placed on the route.
