I undestand that QPA in Singapore suffered a tail-pipe fire and is currently unserviceable due to some damage.

Might explain why there is a 767 performing the BNE/SIN/BNe run at the moment?

No, the 767 operation has been planned for a least a month....covering maintenance on other fleets.
