Seems SQ and Westpac have teamed up and launched a Gold & Platinum credit card (AMEX & VISA)

No surprises here, as far as I know SQ was thinking of partnering with an Australian bank to offer its Australia-based Krisflyer members a co-brand credit card option for at least a year now.
However, in terms of benefits and value for money, I'd say the new Singapore Airlines Westpac credit cards are pretty average or maybe very slightly above average. |

The plat Visa earns 1point per AUD spent... Now if you are redeeming 76k gets you return in J to Asia with SQ, you need 120K with QF. |

If you have already have the Westpac Altitude and particularly the Platinum level there is no point getting the KrisFlyer Credit Card since you and transfer points to KrisFlyer with Altitude - unless they intend removing this...??

Nice for a little competition but it provides nothing that my current Plat Amex gives me.
The only good points is the 3 points per $1 for the next few months, so I may take it up for that |

Received an invitation pack in the post on Monday, the promotional materials looked very well-designed with a nice letter "signed by" Singapore Airlines SW-Pacific VP and Westpac Consumer Finance GM, but I guess I will stick with my current airline rewards credit card (although issued by an overseas bank) which I get some extra staff benefits such as "lifetime annual fee waiver" and preferential credit limit etc.

I actually signed up for the Platnium card today, was approved and will see it in 5-7 working days.
10,000 points on signing Several large purchases on Amex coming up total of around $40,000 by 1st November 130,000 points instead of my 60,000 with my normal Amex |
