Default Air NZ Dreamliner woes

Air NZ mulled going all Dreamliners for their widebody fleet a few years ago, luckily they did not take that direction given the subsequent delivery delays for their orders. The existing fleet has issues with serviceable Trent engines, to the extent that ZK-NZK went into long term storage at CHC last week and it’s likely two others will go into storage as well. At least they learnt their lessons from storing at AKL!

I am surprised they have sent them to CHC and not over to ASP.

There were rumours they will be heading to ASP eventually. Shall see if they are true!

Heard the same rumour but from photos I’ve seen, all the windows have been covered (not something I would expect for short term storage at CHC).

There is requirements in the maintenance manual for 24-72hrs, 7 days, 7+ days for storage. So I dare say they have put them in the 7+ days storage maintenance program for the time being.
