There was a mayday call, aircraft was put back into the arrival sequence and landed. Fire trucks were present on arrival but I believe it taxied under its own power to the bay.

Sounds like they still had the standby instruments though.

Pretty sure its a first.

It sure was a weird day for Virgin, VA231 (MEL-ADL) was operated by an F100 (VH-FNJ) instead of the usual B738 service.

I reckon it would be to do with storms from Sydney on Friday night. Use the spare B737-800's that would operate the flights to clear the back log.

Yes the ATR and the F100 were used to clear the back log from the storms in SYD last night.
