Qantas drive Callum there 16L/R arrivals at the moment, are you taking video or photos.... If video the mound, I have a general rule when im taking photos of a shot in the air and on the ground, so could go QF drive arrival, the mound or beach depending on time of departure for shot on ground..

The Ikea Car park is good for photographing 16R arrivals.

Very convenient.

Default 'Wavy' flight paths last Sunday

Hi there,

Doing some virtual spotting on Webtrak I noticed that last Sunday, 1 July there was a whole series of departures on 34L where a wavy path is shown from takeoff out as far as Windsor. This occurred from at least 10.20am til after midday. (For example see CCA176 and JST764 at 11.07am.)

I can't remember seeing this on Webtrak before. I'm curious if this was something to do with the guidance systems available (or unavailable). Or perhaps it was just windy conditions? I noticed that the Webtrak system was recently upgraded. Perhaps it is now showing a higher resolution or different representation of the data?

Regards,
SW

Virgin Atlantic A340-600 G-VSHY has left the Virgin Atlantic fleet and is currently having the livery removed at Manchester.

It appears it's last revenue flight was on the Sydney-Hong Kong-London VIR201 flight on the 12th June.

Thumbs up

Good to know Shane. I wonder if I had taken any snaps of VSHY once before.

Out of curiosity, would you know of the other A346 (which rego) leaving the fleet?

Also, what's next for VSHY?

Should we make a thread specifically for VS A346?

I think it is the oldest birds leaving the fleet. I believe 4 leave this year and are being returned to Airbus.

Yes, if there is any significant interest in the happenings of the Virgin Atlantic fleet that visits Australia then someone can create a thread for it.
