Default QF Darwin Hong Kong flights

appears QF is running DRW-HKG charter flight in January (737-800), maybe as prelude to opening up the route

Could it also be a special charter to cater for Chinese New Year? I notice the flight is on 21st Jan and chinese new year is on 23rd Jan.

It is for Chinese New Year, one return flight on each of 21 and 28 January.

Don't be too hopeful of this becoming permanent... the flights are actually chartered by Aspirion, so it's not something that's been initiated by Qantas. Not saying it couldn't become permanent, or that I don't want to see it, just to not be too hopeful.
