It looks like the Olympic Athletes are flying out to Darwin after completing their competition to spend two weeks at Howard Springs quarantine.

No sure if QF are adding extra flights or just re-routing the existing A33x cargo flights ?

They are extra charters as evidenced by the flight number , last night it was QF6062 while the normal NRT-BNE flight still operated (QF62)

Thanks James,

It may also have something to do with the number of PAX.

Last night would of brought the swim team back.

They are required to exit Tokyo with 48 hours of their last event, so it was by no means the whole team, and also had other returning athletes on board the flight including Australia's women's rugby sevens team, boxers, cyclists and athletics team members. 115 pax in total.

The Olyroos, the men's rugby sevens and the Australian rowing team are currently in hotel quarantine after arriving in Sydney on commercial flights on Sunday and last Friday, some 200 have returned before yesterday already.

EBR operating QF6064 is a few minutes behind QPE operating QF62, both NRT-BNE this morning.
