The covers on the tail I think are static ports.

Yes, they are gust suppression pressure transducers which you will find also on the 777s tail

VH-ZNL completed a 42 minute B1 test flight as BOE280 on Monday 12th

VH-ZNL completed a 2 hour 44 minute B2 test flight as BOE280 on Wednesday 14th

The first new series repatriation flight using 787-9s will depart Sydney on 19th, flying to Perth as QF9. Then onwards to London Heathrow as QF9, arriving as usual early the next morning.

The plane will then sit at LHR (for crew rest) until late morning on the 22nd when it will fly to Darwin as QF110, before continuing (returning) to Sydney on 23rd as QF847.

With ZNC, ZND & ZNK currently in Sydney, odds are possibly on ZNC, which had a 22 minute out and back test flight from Sydney earlier today (16th).
