Freighters - V8 Supercars
Hey I've been asked if anyone knew when the freighters were leaving for the Middle East leg of the V8 Supercars. I only know that 1 is from Avalon & the other from Brisbane. Can anyone assist please?

The cars have arrived safely at Yas Marina. V8 supercars is usually a boring series to watch (most of the excitement and passing happens in the pits not on the track) but this track is nothing short of crazy with tunnels and enough room for 5 cars abreast. 1.5 billion dollar facility should be a interesting spectacle.

The Formula 1 last year from Abu Dhabi was very good, it should be a good show.
Yas is an incredible track...Not for the history obviously, but just the extravagence of the facility.

Afternoon all,
Was just wandering, becuase the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide is the next race after Abu Dhabi, will the V8's be flown straight to Adelaide from Abu Dhabi or do they have back up cars in Australia for the Aussie circuits? |

They're racing in Bahrain after Abu Dhabi this year, then onto ADL 11-14 March. I beleive in past years the cars return to home base (so back to BNE and AVV) after the overseas races, and then go onto the next round by road.

They will almost certainly will fly back to BNE/AVV and then go by transporter to Adelaide after they spend some time at home base, wherever that may be.

Thanks for the replies. It just that if there is only a short gap between Bahrain and Adelaide. Us spotters were thinking that they may come straight here.

You'd be surprised at how good race teams are at logistics, frankly they are the best.
They'll be all packed up and out of Bahrain track by 4-6am I expect, and back home on the first flight after that. The freight beats them here, but they have ground teams that handle that (or if not, usually the company assigned with freight will have secure storage available until such time as it can be picked up). Read up on Formula 1 logistics as stories and interviews present themselves throughout the year, it's quite incredible.
