Default Point Cook Airshow 2014

The tickets are on sale for the Point Cook 100years centenary airshow March 1,2 next year.

I am just looking on TPE and sussing out the lighting conditions for the airfield. Those who have been there in previous years able to advise as to where the "crowd" line is located. The flight display line normally runs parallel to the crowd line.

Royal Australian Air Force
Quote:
An Air Force C-130J Hercules transport aircraft will conduct handling display practice over RAAF Base Richmond on Wednesday, 26 February.
The display will commence at around 12:30pm and will take approximately 10 minutes.
The aircraft will fly as low as 75 metres during the display, conducting a series of high-speed and low-speed passes and turns, as well as a steep, tactical-style approach to a runway.
The purpose of this rehearsal is to prepare pilots ahead of the Centenary of Military Aviation Air Show at RAAF Base Williams in Point Cook, Victoria, on 1-2 March.
Pilots from Air Force’s No. 37 Squadron will have practised the handling display in the C-130J cockpit simulator at RAAF Base Richmond before conducting the routine in the aircraft.
The flying display pilots will be Squadron Leader Simon Kerr and Flight Lieutenant Matt Fleet, with Sergeant Rodney Clemens and Sergeant Barnaby Hayward working as the aircraft’s loadmasters.
Please note that this activity is subject to cancellation due to operational availability, weather, or aircraft availability.
In the event of a delay, postponement or cancellation, Air Force will seek to update the public through social media: http://www.twitter.com/airforcehq; http://www.facebook.com/royalaustralianairforce/
Various models of the Hercules transport aircraft have been in Air Force service at RAAF Base Richmond since December 1958. Today Air Force operates a fleet of 12 of the latest generation model of the Hercules, the C-130J, which first entered into service in 1999.

My wife called me to say there was a formation of small aircraft off Curl Curl Beach after lunch, and I then heard them fly overhead our office in Dee Why. Sounded like the Roulettes to me, but I could not eyeball them from my desk.

It was indeed the Roulettes Grahame. They departed from Richmond about 1345. Saw this on their Facebook page last night:

For everyone in the Sydney region tomorrow, look skyward as I and the rest of the team perform a few aerobatic manoeuvres with Libby Trickett from the Today show on board! We'll be over the harbour around 1400!! Cheers R1.
