Global flight path visualisation
Hi All,
I was just sent an interesting news article from BBC featuring some amazing GIS graphics developed by the company I work for showing commercial flight routes across the globe. It really shows the density of flights over Europe and the US. It's interesting to note that, while the shape of continents can be clearly seen in the maps, there is actually no base map layer. This shows the pattern of higher density settlement in coastal areas. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-22657086 Cheers, Gareth

Hi Gareth,
I have a similar concept based on my ADS-B data for the Sydney area, with the ability to look at Arrivals, Departures and Overflies separately. http://adsb.16right.com/ and select the Routes menu. If you zoom in a bit and roll the view down so you are looking from the side, you get a good impression of one days activity in Sydney.
