Default Qantas Seating

Howdy all

QF will allow pax to do online seating for their bookings from next week.

Also, seating for domestic flights will be possible from that date (although seating can already be allocated via CRS from this week).

Regards

Luke/PER

I presume this means you can go into existing bookings and allocate yourself a seat?

Also will they hold a block of seat for premium pax or last minute bookings?

Steve, if the British airways model is anything to go by, seat selection BEFORE on-line check-in is only available to Gold and Platinum FF's (or what ever the BA/Oneworld equivalents are). This gives them the chance to get the best seats on offer. Then 24 hours before the flight on-line check-in opens and anyone can choose from what ever is left.

Computer reservation system. Ie what travel agents use to make bookings. There are many different systems, but Galileo, Amadeus and SABRE being the 3 of the better known systems, but there are clearly many more.

Howdy all

Update from Qantas Agents site:

Quote:
From Wednesday 27 May 2009 Qantas' Chairman's Lounge, Platinum, Gold and Silver Frequent Flyer members will be able to select their seat at qantas.com immediately after booking.

In preparation for this new product roll out, changes to existing business rules for seat selection will be reflected in GDS systems from Tuesday 19 May 2009
