It'll be interesting to see what track they take. Is there a better way than J163 to CULIN?

Would it not be similar to HBA-BNE and BNE-HBA?

Kain, you picked this! Another win for HBA. New MEL, SYD, BNE and OOL services announced within the past few weeks. Great news for Tassie travellers coming on top of the extra MEL, SYD and BNE flights ex LST this summer.

Well I didn't quite pick it; I thought it would take effect when the OOL-PER started in April 2011. In addition JQ have a 6th daily HBA-MEL from Dec 22 until Jan 31. HBA must have given them the deal of a lifetime. After staring down the barrel of having only 4 HBA-MEL and 2 HBA-SYD for the peak summer season while everywhere else around the country was getting additional services, we now get 6 HBA-MEL, 3 HBA-SYD, 1 HBA-OOL plus the QF HBA-BNE twice weekly and additional QF HBA-MEL and HBA-SYD 737 services on peak days. So to go from 6 daily to 10 is a 66% increase, in addition to LST which goes from 5 daily to 8; a 60% increase. One might be able to see that my earlier frustration was justified and not so much a south vs north for the sake of it thing. I knew the original seat level was never going to cut it, but now it looks like there are too many! Not much chance of the "there's room at the inn but no seats to get here" article that has been a feature of the last few years around December!

Will be interesting to see how DJ reacts in the next few months...JQ has been announcing service after service to/from OOL.

I bet if QF comes back into the picture, DJ will do something much more quickly.

Those flight times seem to have changed. JQ site now showing HBA-OOL as 1240-1400, but there are no OOL-HBA listed! I'm not sure if they will still need to show all the connecting flights once the non-stop has started.

Seems to me that there is a new aircraft based in SYD starting operation on Dec 22, operating;

SYD-OOL 0745-0805
OOL-HBA ????-????
HBA-OOL 1240-1400
OOL-SYD 1430-1700
SYD-OOL 1745-1805
OOL-SYD 1845-2115

This is in addition to a new aircraft based in MEL starting service on Dec 21, operating;

[MEL-OOL 0840-0940 (1357)
OOL-MEL 1010-1330 (1357)
MEL-BNK 0840-1040 (246)
BNL-MEL 1110-1320 (246)]
MEL-HBA 1400-1515 (x)
HBA-MEL 1545-1700 (x)
[MEL-OOL 1815-1915 (146)
OOL-MEL 1945-2315 (146)
MEL-MCY 1815-1925 (2357)
MCY-MEL 1955-2320 (2357)]

This makes MEL-HBA 6 daily, MEL-MCY 3 daily, MEL-OOL up to 10 daily on Mondays, 8 daily Tuesdays, but 9 other days, SYD-OOL up to 14 daily I think!
