Probably get some interesting convos now on the ground frequency especially since the introduction of the new Class D airspace procedures. So confusing really....I had my first taste of the new radio calls today.

I think ground is a joke. It's not required at bankstown. It just wastes time for controllers and pilots.

As I'm only learning still, and I'll do what the rules say, Class D or GAAP.
But I have found since the new Class D procedures came into place, we spend alot of time sitting in the quiet cockpit, waiting for every other bloke (Or lass) to ask for start-up clearence, or taxi clearence, or progressive taxi instructions, or whatever, before we get a chance to get on the frequency and ask it ourselves. Same goes for when we're in the run-up bay. I'd imagine several other folks around the airport also sitting in their Cessnas or Tecnabs yelling profanities to themselves when they simultaneously transit to someone else as well. Do you do this as well Russell? |
