Default Virgin Australia and TigerAir Route changes

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/busi...502-37ml8.html

TigerAir to cut;
MEL-MCY
SYD-ASP
MEL-ASP

Virgin to cut;
3 x SYD-OOL

TigerAir to add;
2 x SYD-OOL

Interesting that the 3 routes TT are dropping are predominantly leisure routes.

It's actually really easy to "get". The routes are thin margin performers. There isn't sufficient yield. The can get a better return deploying to markets that offer better yield, and leverage on scale.

The return of QF to OOL seems to have had an effect on VA there.

I've supported QF on the SYD-OOL-SYD route a few times over VA, because I got tired of the VA bag drop queue chaos at SYD.

I avoid VA on all flights out of SYD as a result of that hassle.
