QF 533 VH-ZXC Makes a return to Brisbane.
Hi All,
Was at the airport today in anticipation of the JQ A321 turning up instead we were treated to a Emergency return of a Qantas 767. It took off and the wheels remained down for quite sometime, when the tower asked if everything was ok they replied that yes it is, but we did have some severe vibrations on take off, and we will troubleshoot and get back to you in the meantime the aircraft remained at a lower altitude and out over the bay. About 10 minutes later aircraft declared a Pan Pan Pan and elected to return to the airport with Crash Tenders on standby. The aircraft landed safetly with and pulled off the runway while crash tenders & airport saftey vechiles inspected the runway and the crew decided it was then safe to taxi back to the terminal. Aircraft with Crash tender behind it. Regards Michael |

Has not been a good few weeks for Qantas aircraft.
Did you manage to see whether the a/c stayed at the gate or was taken away for closer inspection/repair, and whether ZXC will be back up shortly? Good post and photo! Nick |

Thats amazing because VH-ZXC arrived in Sydney on the '' with a smoking engines and was told to hold on taxiway Charlie before being escorted to the bay where i got this photo of all the fire engines making their way to the 763.
http://myaviation.net/?pid=01309643 Its funny because in just 1 month this aircraft has had 2 major problems involving fire engines to be called. Tim |
