Default QF flight crew

I recently flew on QF12 LAX-SYD on the 380.
I was surprised that the arrival announcement was made by a second officer.
What flight crew does this flight carry?
I have flown SYD-DFW a few times and my recollection is that this flight carries 2 captains and 2 1st officers.
Where does Qantas use 2nd officers these days.

Normally it’s one Captain, two firsts and a second or two seconds long haul.

VA is similar - one capt, one FO who acts as relief commander when the capt is in rest, and two second officers.

Default Standard crew.

On flights over 12 hours 4 pilots are required.

This will be made up of 1 CAPT, 1 FO and 2 SO’s.

This can change due to training, sickness, crewing issues or other operational requirements.
