Blue Emu car park cordoned off
Many months of enjoyment of the Blue emu seems to be coming to an end as they have cordoned off the West end of the car park where we sit on a Saturday and Sunday morning. Anyone know what they are planning to do there?
Thanks, Marcus. |

The south east sector apron (Kilo stand-off bays) and associated taxiways expansion works are kicking off.
As part of the works Twy Juliet will be extended to meet up with an extended Twy Delta, and the apron will be able to accommodate 4 new primary aircraft parking positions. If you have access to NAIPS, AIC H23/19 refers.

Is there still enough room for shots of the aircraft on the kilo apron?

I really don't know Reece. I'm currently on leave. Hopefully one of the regular spotters can help to answer that.

Thanks for the info, very much appreciated. I managed to locate a copy of H23/19 online:
https://www.airservicesaustralia.com...up/a19-h23.pdf for those that might be interested. It is going to take (at least) 42 months! Such a shame, the west end of the car park was a great place to sit in a car with a 180 degree view. |
