Hi guys,

I for one think ADS-B is a great concept, as far as I'm concerned, the more information recieved from an aircraft about it's location the better, and even more so if other nearby aircraft can get this information, making our skies safer.

But why are many people, including pilots so against this?

I agree, it is a great idea.

Cost $$ to pilots/owners and operators is why its met with some skepticism.

This added with some gaps in the technology still. Dick Smith has posted some thoughts in the PPRUNE forums about the subject which make for some interesting reading.
