Heard on the radio just now that there are some hornets flying into or around richmond at the moment or quite soon.
Anyone know what the occasion is? Cheers. Gerard |

Probably just standard landing practice for the pilots. They use Richmond all the time as its a short flight from home base and a less crowded airspace these days.

Just heard what i think is Maple 10, or it might have been naple, and Tester 13 (?) on approach to Richmond, but is that a RAAF hornet or something else? Cant say that it had a distinctive Australian accent but still? Any ideas?

RAAF/ADF sometime use the 'tester' callsign for aircraft undergoing test flights after major servicings - other than that, no idea.

Maple is the callsign for 2 OCU or the hornet training squadron based at willi. A single aircraft would be maple 10 etc but flights or multiple aircraft from 2OCU are usually hipshot 1, 2 etc or hawkeye and have heard hoodoo or something like that
