Hi Ken
The controller was asking the same question off mic!
Near as we can tell it was a reference to the Wildlife Park that used to be at Wallacia or maybe Silverdale but I think is now a housing development (and it wasn't even an airport)
Bullen's Animal World, or the African Lion Safari? Some name like that they used to trade under.
Southwest of the Australia's Wonderland site.

Remember going there as a very young kid.

Unfortunately in recent times the RSPCA raided Bullens and took the animals away due to poor levels of care.

There was an airstrip at Bullens Animal World in the past.

I was the Sydney scenery designer / programer for the Sydney add-on to MS Flight Simulator 4 and I went out there to photograpgh the airstrip. From memory I did end up including it in the sim scenery. The strip was unsealed, un-licenced and known as "Bullens".

Cheers,
Mark

Are you sure the strip was at the animal world? There was a funpark on the opposite side of the road to the Lion Safari/Animal World, which I assume was also owned by Bullens. This is where the strip was. I remember goign on a joyflight there in '78 or '79...

Could this be it by chance???

Shows a 'strip' but when you go to Satelite, it is no longer there...

Haven't noticed an airstrip when flying over Wallacia. I was there on Weds last week in the training area. If there is a strip down there it would be useful to know for forced landings, but there's nothing marked on the VTC and no mention in ERSA under 'Bullens'.

Using the link I posted above, it shows the location of where the strip was. If you then change it to Satellite, it is long gone now however...

33°52'0.14"S 150°39'53.42"E is the location on Google Earth. Looks like it has been transformed to a farm.
