My comment was in relation to a another reply indicating that the "criminal" offence now recorded against Jetstar would impact their ability to get funding.

IF this was the case, which it isn't, doesn't' big brother QF apply for everything anyway and then help out JQ with the good rates/finance/loans

Okay so lets assume 200 passengers leaving Sydney and also 200 passengers waiting in Bali for the plane.

If the plane didn't leave accommodation and meal/taxi costs for the stranded passengers would have been more than the fine!
Depending on the cost of transportation, I can't see the cost being that high..

Sorry to stir you guys up. I was over-reading into the Act. Yes Banjo, you are correct... a fine

What I was reading into the Act was that breaching any offence under the Sydney Airport Curfew is an offence against Division 11 of the Criminal Code...Extensions of criminal responsibility. (as well as Section 6 of the Crimes Act, but that was not breached ... yet)

Basically if you know it was an offence (as stated in the evidence.. the pilot was warned), and you still committed that offence against that advice, you can be sent to gaol for up to 2 years. I gathered this was not followed up, so we can all go back to sleep.

... and Jetstar is independently financed under Qantas. Qantas is the guarantor on some heavy finance and Fines are bad debts.
