Default Tiger Airways: Flights 'cheaper than a carton'

Good and quirky article with good graphic on Tiger's current sale in the Adelaide Advertiser including tips on how to save for those cheap fares.

Quote:
TRAVELLERS can fly from Adelaide to Perth for less than the price of carton of beer.

Cut-price airline Tiger Airways has aggressively cut the cost of some of its airfares so that one-way travel from Adelaide to Perth costs as little as $23.73, including taxes.

...continues...

HOW TO PAY FOR YOUR FARE

Don't buy that carton of Platinum Pure Blonde for the weekend. SAVE $37.98.

Instead of heading out for dinner, stay at home and eat in. SAVE $20-$30.

Wait for that new movie to hit the DVD shelves instead of catching it on opening night. SAVE $34.

Give up that manicure. Your nails can wait a little longer. SAVE $40.

Bring instant coffee to work for a week instead of buying two a day. SAVE $35.

Catch public transport to work for a week instead of driving. SAVE $40.

Hmmm,

looks like Tiger use a Sydney based agency. I don't know of any Croweater or Mexican that uses the term "Carton".

Long live the slab!

I originate from South Australia and have always used the term 'carton'.

Another clever bit of marketing from Tiger, aimed squarely at their demographic!!

Interestingly, all media seems to quote Steve Davis of late.

Question is, is Shelley Roberts still running the show or is the SIN import Davis taking over the Australian operation???

Anyone got the inside mail? IF there is any............

Interesting question. Shelley Roberts "runs" (or tries to) the show, but I wouldn't bet on her staying around much longer as Managing Director in the long term...Long story there

Damn straight. I'd be buying a carton of James Squire Golden Ale for $50 instead and still get better value. Yummm!

A slab of beer is much more reliable than a LCC.

I dunno Ray,

They'd be about the same:

After a carton/slab of beer you never know where you'll end up.... same can be said for some flights on LCC's!
