Would love to see an F111 take off from 34L and ignite its afterburners for a rapid ascent - that would be a spectacular sight. Off 34R with noise abatement might be a bit of a challenge!

I was near Krispy Kreme about a week ago when an F-111 took off on 34R. They didn't seem to care too much about the noise abatement.

I've got pics of QF744's doing touch and go's at Williamtown.

It'll be a real shame when the RAAF lets these aircraft go. They have beautiful classic lines and there is nothing else that sounds like them.

The F1-11 is always spectacular to see. I once saw a USN F14 go from 16L, Very slow climb initialy and then when over the Bay it just seemed to go vertical. Was out of sight in no time. Great noise.

The same F-111s did a simulated attack on RAAF Base East Sale as part of the training mission. Pity I was in a meeting at the time, but I certainly heard them alright.
