"This year they will grow Jetstar by 24% and reduce Qantas by 5%."

So where will the next round of Qantas flights cuts be and which routes will be axed? They will not be replaced with Jetstar. But the growth of Jetstar is very impressive and certainly compensates from the reduction comming from Qantas. They must be getting 10+ new aircraft a mix of A330-A321-A320 for Jetstar 24% growth in the year ahead. Maybe they will start these southern europe flights this year. Where else could all this growth come from? Maybe a fair bit from Jetstar asia.

Media has put thier spin on it. If they are going to take P class out, they will take them from the 744's. What they are evaluating if the future A380 deliveries - there will always be A380's with the current product, they are determining if all of them need it or not.

I remember Dixon saying that Jetstar will never replace a mainline service.

Not many here would remember the introduction of the 747. It was all glitz and glamour on the inside much like the a380's.After a few years you now see what the interior were reduced to.You can expect the same of the A380will become cattle trucks.

Australia's Jetstar is kicking its pan-Asian expansion strategy into the next gear as the low-cost carrier launches several new services from Singapore and looks at possible kangaroo routes to southern Europe.
