Malcolm, the only thing that is a "downgrade" is no first or premium Y. Appart from that a shinny new A330 is either the same in terms of product on a much newer aircraft.

dont know about yourself but I always felt the skybeds on the A330 have appeared to be slightly narrower or a more snugger fit than those on the 747. Just from personal experience when I have been on them to BOM and NRT versus the 747 to LAX and JFK, that why I have dropped the term downgrade in there , However you are right there is nothing else different.

I think the QF107/QF108 will operate as 'change of guage' service 744/332 - similar to QF25/QF26 737/744.
