QF 12 Delta
Hello everyone. Just got back in to listening to the Airbands again and after hearing something I hadn't heard before, I had to know what it meant! And thats what led me to your forum.
I was listening to Sydney Approach at 6:30am and on came QF 12 'Delta'. I had never heard a Qantas flight say 'Delta' after their flight number so I looked at the Qantas website and it listed a QF 12 from LAX due in until 8:30am. This QF12 'Delta' was early. Yesterday the newspaper raved on about Monday's delayed A380 in LAX that finally arrived on Tuesday morning. Would this be because two QF 12's, the late A380 and the scheduled flight, were coming in to Sydney on Tuesday morning and they put 'Delta" after the delayed flight? Would love to know. Thanks |

Correct, 'D' is used when there are 2 flights departing on the same day with the same flight number. QF12D on this occasion.

Great, thanks for the reply.
It had me baffled until I saw the A380 had been delayed. Then I got thinking! |
