I was lucky enough to see the 707 taking off on my way home from work. Strangely it seemed to be dumping fuel from the left wing as it took off - anyone know what's going on with that? It was followed shortly after by 6 hornets taking off in pairs.

It would have had the fuel coming out of the tank vent. It is common when the boeing aircraft are filled to the gills.

Just a heads up for everyone that Omegas 707(N707MQ) and DC-10(N974VV) will be shortly landing in Cairns from Williamtown. They were assisting 8 F/A-18's in from Red Flag from Pago Pago(I think).
