Absolutely right - 100% - lets not pay for something we do not need...............
So......................
When the LCC's leave you stranded at an airport, leaves hours late, then...................ask them..what am I paying for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh what a silly question.

When you're aircraft leaves 23 hours late, and when after landing 2 hours away from your destination you're handed 4 sheets of toilet paper and half a cup of water during your 5 hour wait on the other side of the tarmac whilst your luggage is holidaying on the other sidse of the globe to where your connection took off yesterday, you're paying for "Opperational Issues".

Harry gave some good examples. For example banks forcing people to use cards to lower costs, then once everyone is using cards starting to introduce fee's to use cards. Whilst of course banks incur costs to provide this service, back in my day banks recovered costs by lending the money you banked with them to other people. Today they still lend your money or invest it, but they now also charge you for the service they give. Then when their investments fail and the profit to the shareholders drop they raise the fees!

With airlines many, especially the US ones have been encouraging people to bring more and more on-board baggage over the past few years to save them the cost of handling the baggage. Indeed many have installed larger bins to do this, and have much higher allowances than non us airlines. AA for example allows 18KG of cabin baggage, yet Qantas and most non us airlines the limit is about 7KG (per bag). Now the airlines want to charge for the mess THEY created. So no matter what you do you have to pay. At least with the legacy airlines the cost is included and is not disgusied, as it seems to be for many LCC's.

All the "we have a choice" posters would now be putting on their asbestos gloves to start spraying all the knockers.......

the whole airline thing is becoming a joke quite frankly.......
cut the crap and get to the point..........
a leading aviation expert predicted over 2 years ago the absolutely stupid fares posted by some of these mismanaged airlines are unsustainable and we now see it.........$ 19 -a round of beers cost you more and we are paying $1.39 per litre for petrol.....so when they fly 32 pax to hobart at $ 19 - do the sums......hence we have cancellations and the whole dog chasing its own tail scenario starts...... limited pax - no flights, angry stranded pax, dont fly with airline again etc etc etc
so some bright spark from one of the mismanaged airlines who gets up in the morning and says.........mmmmmmm how can we get some more money......I know.......... we will impose a charge for us getting them to where they want to go..thats a good idea.we can charge them the $ 19 to sit on the plane and we can charge then another $ 60 to get them there (lets hope).......what a great idea!!
think about that.....
how much money could they make??

simply............ our population cannot sustain 4 main domestic carriers and all TT is doing is sending JQ to the wall as is JQ trying to do the same to TT....
look at the newest strategy form these giants.......
JQ at Avalaon TT now going there........
this "shed" in the middle of nowhere during the week would have cabin perhaps 50% full on $ 40 fares???
thats a bright money making excercise isn't it!
a secondary airport that servcies a city of what 100,000 (sorry do not know the population of geelong)........
back to the model of these LCC's.....fly to secondaty airports like in europe......... you morons........ europe secondary airports service cities with million populations......manchester, gatwick etc etc

QF and DJ will sit back, particulalry DJ and jsut wipe up the mess that will remain!

I was flabbergasted the other day while booking an internal flight in the UK. GBP6 'check in fee'... or GBP3 'online check-in fee'. Work that one out! Then add the checked bag fee (that one I can live with), booking fee, credit card fee and there was one more that I forget now. Anyway. GBP4.99 became GBP45 very quickly.

I was floored to cop an unavoidable charge for checking in though.

Adam Sleazyjet are shockers for quoting a cheap price, but when you go to book all the extras then become default enabled options. You have to read each and every item very carefully and make sure you de-select every item you don't want. Travel insurance is one they add and try to hide.

Harry you forgot a charge. How about a fuel surcharge. You know the price is high, so rather than factor that into the price how about airlines charge everyone. Oh yeah forgot they already do that, all of em.

When in the US recently ,I took a flight over Grand Canyon in a suicide machine...... we all got weighed to work out our seating position..actually whilst I think of it.... one guy said to his "fat" mate after he weighed in....... hey your seat is in the terminal and not the plane tubby...well it was funny at the time......
Someone touched on it....... to be truly fare.....(fair) we should be weighed and measured and then converted like freight to cubic metres/kilos....... that way....... big pays more, little pays less......
Check in could be a problem as your mates might stand on the scales......
and trick you

Let's be serious..... if the airlines could find a way to charge you for thinking about flying, they would!
Problem is folks......... like the various governments around the world.......mismanged by absolute morons and their mistakes become our problems.........

And whilst these incompetents keep charging the ludicrous fares that they do and cry that they are NOT making money (yes morons - you need to charge more money you morons - thats a simple equation) they will keep adding the chargeable add ons......
how do you rid your self of them....... dont fly with them! and................ support the Aussie product!
