Default Photos: Spotting in Wagga Wagga Wagga

Hi all

Recently I was down this way for my university graduation, and while things were quiet, I went out to Forest Hill to re-acquaint myself with the traffic and types that this airport sees, and also with my radio scanner, learn and see how CTAF works. Was definitely an eye opener for me to see the circuit above YSWG with Jabirus, SAABs, Hercules, Warriors and Q300s following each other around for Runway 05 arrivals (Not quite in that order, but you get what I mean!).

Anyhow, the following photos detail two afternoons out at Forest Hill.

"Mentor 13", RAAF Hercules doing flyovers arriving in on Runway 23

Followed by VH-MRL, a locally registered Victa Airtourer

VH-QOP, a shiny new QantasLink Q400 takes off from runway 05

VH-KRX, a Regional Express SAAB 340 stars up on the tarmac and taxies out to the runway.

VH-PPD, a Dassault Falcon 900X had been sitting here for the three days I was down in Wagga. Anyone know the story of why it was in Wagga?

VH-WGG, a locally registered Cessna 210, arrives for the day

Local traffic, all arriving at once at sunset

Locally based VH-EJE, a PA-31 of Wagga Air Centre, arrives in Wagga to exchange various freight before heading onto Bankstown

Reminding me of how much I miss the bush, in seeing stuff like this!

Piper Warrior from the local AAPA Flying School

VH-ZJL is about to taxi out of Wagga for the last flight out of here, bound for Sydney

VH-ZRI, arrives into Runway 05 the following afternoon

A locally based Jabiru, 24-4978, (I'm assuming that's a Recreational Aviation rego?) doing touch and gos inbetween the SAABs and Dash 8s in the circuit

QantasLink Dash 8 VH-TQY, following the Jabiru in

Air Ambulance NSW's King Air, VH-AMR, arrives into 05, right after the Dash 8

About 45mins later, VH-TQY departs Wagga from Runway 05 bound for Sydney

As the song goes.... "Because calling Wagga Wagga Wagga is wrong!"

Enjoy!

Default Wagga Wagga

The bigger regional airports can certainly have some interesting traffic.

I see you've caught VH-ZRM there Maikha - not quite in service yet.

You should have just told us that the Dassault Falcon 900X was how you arrived for your university graduation.

Pardon my ignorance... is this one of the recent transfers from the US?

Nah.... the flight would be too quick for me to enjoy, I'd be happier in one of those SAABs

Definately NOT a Warrior here. Looks like a Piper Seminole to me.

Whoops, you're right there!

I must have looked at an identical photo while writing up the post that had a Warrior in it. Unfortunately it seems I can't edit the post, unless a Mod wishes to do it.
