Hi Guys,

I have a question in regards to the aircraft used on the SYD to APW (Apia) routes i was reading an article on the SMH website today about Virgin and in it was mentioned Polynesian Blue part of the virgin group only having one aircraft which is primarily used for SYD-APW route. This got me thinking that the below aircraft regos for a flight i went on a while back must be ZK-PBF. Looking further into it i read that they also use other Pacific Blue aircraft on this route.
So my question is does anyone know how often Virgin use other aircrafts on this route? Is it a common occurrence or fairly rarely?

Thanks,

DJ93 Dep Syd on 19.10.2007

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but whilst only the one plane is painted in Polynesian Blue livery, my understanding is that the aircraft is interchangeable with all the other Pacific Blue (NZ) aircraft (the ZK- registered aircraft).

So I imagine you could get any one of those aircraft on the route, just like you can get the Poly Blue aircraft on other Pacific Blue (NZ) services.

Thanks for the reply Steve that would mean that it could also possibly have been these aircrafts;

ZK-PBA Bonnie Blue
ZK-PBB Whitney Sundays
ZK-PBD Pacific Pearl

As they where the only ones in service for Pacific Blue during the time of my flight. looks like these aircrafts don't have an acars setup because i cant find any even more recent acars records for these aircrafts, so its probably impossible to narrow it down anymore. Unless anyone else knows the whereabouts of any of these aircrafts at the time off my flights.
