When Hawthorn plays in Launceston, Qantas always put the teams and their staff on 737's, not 767's. So there is sufficient room on these aircraft. They would use 737's direct from PER, ADL, MEL and BNE.

That'd be great. i saw a couple at OOL on hols a few years back, they look great so ADl would be cool place to see them.....

So QF can send a couple of 767's to HBA for cricket but cannot send a couple to ADL for the Tour Down Under. There were over two dozen bikes left behind on just QF 774 last night, there were three baggage carts of bikes left behind on the MEL flight (over 3 dozen) which left at the same time. I got lucky and both bikes I checked arrived, but on the way to ADL one did not. It amazes me that QF think that it is ok to take up to a week to re-unite bikes to PAX yet can redeploy a 767 or two for cricket. Just like your bat and pads for a cricketer, if you are a cyclist you need your bike to participate in the sport.

On Friday we had a 4 B767's 2 from Sydney, 1 from MEL and 1 from Brisbane. Last night QF783 was a B767 from Sydney. I belive they were all to do with the Tour Down under.

No, I don't. I suspect that the 321 that didn't eventuate to ADL was just part of the rotation for the LST-SYD, since ADL still hasn't received any 321s, but LST and HBA have. They only have a few for domestic remember, so if HBA and LST are getting some services from them, then I can't see there being enough 321s to do ADL services too.

They have a stop-gap schedule in at the moment. Lots of routes seem under capacity compared with recent schedules, e.g. I think MEL-OOL had up to 10 a day in Jan, but only showing 5 a day on the new schedule some days.

Has been re-scheduled to operate into HBA twice and LST once this Tuesday 25th Jan. No date for ADL yet.
The three services all eventuated and were all operated by VH-VWY.

Digging up this thread one last time, new 321 rotations effective 3 April:

MEL-OOL 0600
OOL-MEL 0840
MEL-OOL 1220
OOL-MEL 1500
MEL-OOL 1800
OOL-MEL 2045

MEL-CNS 0610
CNS-MEL 1035
MEL-HBA 1500
HBA-MEL 1645
MEL-BNE 1830
BNE-MEL 2110

MEL-BNE 0715
BNE-MEL 0955
MEL-SYD 1335
SYD-MEL 1540
MEL-SYD 1800
SYD-MEL 2005

SYD-CNS 0600
CNS-SYD 1025
SYD-BNE 1400
BNE-SYD 1605
SYD-OOL 1845
OOL-SYD 2045

So new permanent 321 services to BNE and HBA. Nothing to ADL nor LST at this stage. I guess JQ are operating the 321 into BNE in a pre-emptive move to the rumored TT base in BNE.
