Hawaiian frequency to YSSY
Is there any substance to a rumour my brother-in-law heard this week that Hawaiian will shortly increase their Sydney flights to a daily frequency.
He was however, unable to relate the source of the rumour. |

John,
the rumour is correct. Hawiian is to go daily for a period of a couple of months, then will reduce to 5, then to 4... Quote:

Shame it's on the old 763's, will be nice when the A330's are running the route.

Daily service starts Wed 6 April and runs through to 1 August.
After that, service drops to 5 x weekly as the aircraft will be used to operate new service, either to the US east coast or most likely HNL-KIX. There are currently no plans to reduce back to 4 x weekly. The A332 won't be seen in SYD until the fleet numbers increase, possibly late 2012. R |

Taken from Airliners.net but this post appears to be from a good source
HA's new international cabin service which was introduced on the new flights from HNL to both HND and ICN will make its debut on SYD and MNL routes starting on May 1st. All four international routes will see meals prepared by Hawaii's leading chef, Chai Chaowasaree from Chai's Island Bistro, as well as upgraded complimentary beer and wine selections in all cabins. |

Sounds like improved cabin service, rather than improved aircraft (330)
