Maybe it's a "Splash and Dash" due to strong headwinds across the pacific as Sydney seems to be coping with fog problems this morning. QF108 also heading for Brisbane.
Yesterdays BA15 divert to Brisbane has just re-positioned down to Sydney as BA15X and will operate yesterdays BA16 back to Heathrow this morning. The scheduled BA16 for this afternoon has also been delayed until 0630 tomorrow due to operating crew being the ones arriving this morning on BA15X. Vietnam Airlines and Asiana diverted to Melbourne. QF400 flew a hold pattern around Bowral before heading back to Melbourne. QF50 went to Brisbane.
The fog this morning was a shocker. As Chris said, whatever landed or took off was a mystery if not for a scanner. |

Here's what the fog looked like from the air as seen at 7am yesterday morning.
So thick and extremelly low-vis underneath, but above 1000-2000' it's clear as day.
