Default Qantas & Qatar union

Just read this link http://www.heraldsun.com.au/business...-1226417059948

After all the recent speculation about Emirates and Qantas getting closer, it seems Qatar's got in? I also remember reading that British Airways are interested in bringing Qatar into the oneworld alliance, so this could work out well?

This article from CAPA talks about the alliance options and implications, but seems to be written before the Qantas/Qatar thing came about (still refers to QF/EK)
