For anyone interested there is a QF744 supplementary service on Saturday for the AFL.

DEP SYD 08:15 to MEL

ARR SYD 21:40 from MEL.

So the 744 goes back to MEL after all this time.

Probably not allocated yet,but I'd be interested to know which aircraft will operate this service if possible.

Would assume OJD as QF581/2 usually doesn't do Saturday and because of seating configuration?

Yes it should be OJD, as Saturday is its 'day off' from the PER run.
