Default QF7701

Just seen this flight depart YSSY (VH-OGT B763) Wed 2240 & noticed it following VH-EFR. Went to AKL airport site & it seems to be operating as a freight run & return as well. If so how often does this occur?

A new one on me, anyway .

Just noticed that at AKL it shows as QF7001/2 but is 7701 on FR24.

I believe it is filling in for the 767 freighter Qantas has, which normally operates this flight, which is regular.

From what I can see from flightaware, QF7701/7702 looks like it is replacing the Tasman Cargo B757 VH-TCA. This iarcraft has not visited Sydney for over a week since it was transfeerred to aussie register. Since then and Prior to the transfer to register and maintenance to the QF B767 has been operating the flight.

VH-EFR is currently en-route to Auckland as QF7523.

Remember VH-TCA is now on the Australian register so it has to get a CASA AOC and it is currently getting that.It is doing flights for CASA and once approval is granted then the 757 will be back in service.

Stefan is correct.

This makes some sense. Saw an FB post from a friend working as cabin crew on a freighter run, including shots of an empty passnger cabin.

Cabin fire Nigel.

Also to feed us. I wouldn't trust one of us with the ovens etc.

How many crew would be required Todd? 1 for each person on the flight deck?

Does the regular freighter (EFR) carry cabin crew, or do the pilots not get trained in passenger welcome speeches and instead do cooking classes?

DUCKS, RUNS, HIDES.

Can't speak for the EFA guys. But we get one flight attendant for flights over 3 hours.

We also get caviar and lobster. It's obviously rare so it's only on our freighter flights.
