No I don't think that's the reason at all Ray.
I think the reason is the level of pay is too low to attract the required people. And add to that the management's lack of recruitment to fill the gaps that are constantly being created through normal staff turnover. TIBA is happening more than many of you may be aware. Our company has recently put out a notice to all pilots asking them to read up on TIBA procedures given the increasing usage of it within QLD airspace because of shortages at Brisbane Centre. The Australian Air Traffic Controllers do an absolutely fantastic job. The level of service which you receive from them is nothing short of brilliant. Unfortunately though, they are let down by those above them, and I believe that if they were better supported, then the level of service would increase again! Cheers Chris |
