Default Dubai Airshow 2013

The Dubai Airshow has started, with amazingly large orders from the middle east carriers. So far, orders from today stand at

Emirates; 150 777X, 50 A380

Etihad; 50 A350, 36 A320neo, 1 A330-200F, 25 777X, 30 787-10, 1 777F

Qatar; 50 777X, 5 A330F

Fly Dubai; up to 100 737MAX and 11ng.

In the press release for Etihad's Airbus order (Link), the airline stated that the order may be transferred to airlines of its equity alliance, so maybe we'll see some of the A350s in Virgin Australia colours.

One wonders just where these Middle East carriers are getting the cash for such impressive orders....

forget the cash for the orders, Nigel...whereabouts are they going to park them and where on Gods green earth are they going to fly them. DXB is a shambles as it is without adding more pressure and World Airport is still not ready.

I read recently the definition of EK according to a PPrune pilots.

European Managed Indian Run Arabs Taking Exceptional Salaries.

seems about right.
