Hi Dennis, I recorded the announcement of the first tranche of E190s leased by QANTAS as 14 to be delivered by 30/6/22, followed by another four to be delivered by 1/1/23. The final tranche is for an additional 12 aircraft with all 30 to be delivered by the first quarter of 2025.

These dates were extended with the last three aircraft in QF livery not delivered until February (XVU), March (XVS) and June (UYE) this year. This equaled 19 E190s in QF livery and if UYO is repainted would be the twentieth. But as already mentioned in this thread QF are using other Alliance E190s which are not in QF livery, so the total numbers maybe higher. Also, I haven't recorded the dates they actually started service with QF after delivery to Australia and any pre-service maintenance.

QQ is contracted by QF to supply x number of frames.

If any frames goes u/s or maintenance they are obliged (contracted) to cover that a/c. That frame could have QF/QQ livery depending on what spare frame is available.

They have brought the orders forward because they haven't got the spare frame capacity and since the QF/QQ takeover failed I expect that QF will be following the letter of the contract.

Could be a furphy, but here we go:

E190 XA-AEF/41 flew into SJO on 06/08 for end of lease maintenance (repaint?).

Why is this of interest, the same Company who did the previous QQ work is doing this aircraft. Also SJO doesn't see much E190 traffic.

Also found on Coopesa MRO twitter an early QQ repaint (2020)

https://twitter.com/i/status/1324376311993978882

May be of interest.

Thanks for the link and information, Greg. Are you suggesting that XA-AEF maybe the first E190 from the AerCap contract? It is due for delivery in September if on schedule.

UYZ, ex N922QQ was the first E190 delivered to Alliance on 29/10/20. Interestingly, UYZ is now painted in the QANTAS livery.

From the presser

"To address this, Alliance has entered into a contract to acquire an additional four E190 airframes from Azorra Aircraft Holdings LLC (“Azorra Deal”). These airframes have a long maintenance life remaining and are “sister ships” to the aircraft being acquired under the AerCap Deal. These airframes will be delivered to Alliance in Costa Rica (without engines fitted) starting in August 2023.
