When they did the bus transfer from the Domestic to the International, VH-OQA was in the hangar and VH-OQB and VH-OQC were at the terminal.

I saw VH-OQC (QF31) lifting off from Runway 16R today at Towra Point Reserve.

Dan didn't manage to get all 3 A380 operators on the ground at the same time, but yesterday I went spotting at Heathrow and got pics of all 3 within 30 minutes of each other. If the EK flight had arrived 10 mins earlier and QF32 had left on time it may have been possible for a bit of a group shot. But not to be.

Anyway here is my effort...

PS Where I was standing, which was on the fence between Hatton Cross Tube and T4 you could really hear the difference in engine noise of the A380 compared to everything else. They are just so quiet, it made A330's and 777's sound loud. Ineed the BMI ERJ that left just before Qantas for some reason sounded louder!

Ash, thanks for the photos! They look great in any case. Can't wait to get up close to an Emirates A380 when they start coming to Sydney They're definitely quiet birds and as you noted the 777's seem loud nowadays. It's amazing how perception changes with technological advances.

Did you see the Emirates leave? I'm just wondering if their engines sound different to the RR's on Qantas and Singapore's birds...

Dan

Nah did wait around for EK to leave, it was freezing cold out there yesterday. Maybe in a few months time when it starts to warm up and we get some decent sunlight I might go out again.

Default VH-OQH arrives in Toulouse: - 8th A380 for QANTAS!

In my blog feeder, Flightblogger is reporting that QANTAS 8th aircraft has arrived in Toulouse!

Quote:
In the wee hours of January 15th in the South of France, an A380 made its way (in pieces) to the Airbus facility in Toulouse. If my math is correct, this is the 32nd structural delivery of a flying A380 to the Final Assembly Line. The aircraft will eventually be the 8th for QANTAS as VH-OQH (MSN050). In addition to the video below (taken by my colleague Max Kingsley-Jones), photographer BlackBear_31 captured the convoy winding through a French village. The convoy carried the horizontal stabilizer, wings, forward, center and aft fuselage for the super jumbo.
Direct video link (if you don't want to go to John's ;Flight Blogger' page is here.

Rather than simply start another thread, I thought it best to continue within this QF 'delivery' themed thread (even if there is 4,5,6 & 7 missing somewhere... ).

Pretty cool video showing how 'tight' it is through the village, and BlackBear_31 has some great images as well!!!

VH-OQC QF0094 30/01/2009 08:32 Qantas A380-842 <-<--- Los Angeles-Melbourne

One minute apart for their first ACARS transmission.
