I've heard that X4C has had some engineering issues relating to the slide raft. Seems that the A220s have been having quite a few problems ever since they've been delivered.

QF's next A220 (MSN 55298, test rego C-FOWQ, will be VH-X4D) appears to have had its first flight.

Yes, a 2 hour 25 minute test flight. How did you realise that C-FOWQ was the future VH-X4D, Rowan? A bit of a surprise as there was no recording or photo of the A220 exiting the assembly hanger, in primer or full colour scheme, or having taxi checks or a rejected take off. Also, the Canadian test registration was not shown anywhere that I could find when you posted, Rowan, only the MSN. It is now showing on Aviation Flights that I use but only after the flight was completed.

It is interesting to add that from first flight to delivery of X4C was only 15 days so we should see X4D delivered by mid September, all being well.

I use Aviation Flights alongside planespotters. The MSN for the next QF A220 was floating around before X4C was delivered and while planespotters didn't list the operator for 55298 it did list the test reg.

After X4D I've got nothing as I haven't seen the MSN for what will be X4E. I assume it can't be too far behind X4D as QF will need 5 A220s in service by mid-November.

The original announcement was 6 this year but I'm sure it that hasn't been pushed back with production delays..
